How To Shift Your Mindset About Showing Up
Having a shit day or week?
Maybe even month?
And you can’t seem to function at your full 100%?
It’s ALL good.
It’s time we drop the “this or that” mentality anyways.
I mean... who feels fucking fantastically good all the time anyways?
I know I certainly don't.
So there’s no need to beat yourself up emotionally if you aren’t functioning at a superman level..
I believe being able to show up when things are hard is a valuable life skill.
And one that definitely takes some practice, for sure.
I see a lot of people struggling to show up when they’re not feeling the best.
Like there’s this underlying pressure that if you’re not showing up 100%, then it’s best if you don’t show up at all.
Nope.
Your options aren’t only:
>> Showing up full force 24/7.
>> Or not showing up at all, which you think makes you a complete “failure”.
There is SO much middle ground between 0 - 100.
Showing up doesn’t always mean going full force 100% all the time.
So the next time you’re having a crap day ask yourself this:
How can I show up just 10% more today?
And ALLOW that to be enough.
It’s a WIN/WIN.
Not only do you still make progress that you can feel good about, but you get time to step back and rest as well.
What do you think?
P.S. I know that doing less and allowing that to be enough is sometimes harder than it sounds.
Especially for all of my work-a-holic, striving perfectionists out there.
Which is why I focus heavily on helping my clients embrace intentional, creative and effective work over busy-ness.
